Mobile Mechanic (Coming Soon)
Collie Transportation LLC will soon be rolling out a mobile mechanic truck focused on light repairs and routine maintenance on cars, small and medium trucks, as well as equipment. More information will become available as we get closer to launching the truck.
New!This service will focus on having a mechanic availablbe for weekend repairs to begin. Friday/Saturday appointment can be made once available. If service proves to be a necessety in the community we will work on bringing it in as a full time service. Thanks all for having a look and have a good day!
Oil
We will be using a variety of different oils when working on vehicles. If you have a specific oil brand you would like us to use, or purchase yourself, jsut let us know. As for us we go off the OEM recommended oil viscosity and grade for each different vehicle. If you vehicle takes a 5w-30 synthetic blend. We will add 5w-30 syntheitic blend. Full synthetic can be requested and used on all vehicles. However we will not fill vehicles that require full synthetic with synthetic blend or conventional oil. Our goal is to keep you vehicle running smoothly. As always most autoparts stores have deals for oil and filters you can get. Or ask us and we can see what sales are on for your prefered auto store.
Oil Change Services
Filters
We utilize the STP oil filters for most of our changes. However, we will also utilitze whichever is requested as well. For our company haul trucks we utilize the carquest brand filters (manufactured by baldwin filters) These are for our diesels pulling 25,000lbs+ daily. For short term 3,000-5,000 changes normal STP oil filters work well. For extended life filters you can get closer to 7,500-10,000 miles out of them. If using or your vehicle requires full synthetic oil then we suggest getting the extended life filters and replaceing oil every 7,500 miles. We do not recommend going over 7,500 miles with any combination of oil and filter due to break down in the oil itself. Alas that decision is ultimatly up to you.
Example Cost
For our example we will be using a 2012 F-150 for price demonstration. We charge a base line $20 for mobile service and then price out for labor and parts. On said vehicle for a 5,000 mile and full synthetic oil would be $2.5 for the filter and $36 for 6 quarts of oil with a set time of .5 hours of labor at $40/hr would be a total of $78.5+tax. for an Extended life filter it would add another $2.5 to the cost. Each vehcile is different and may price out lightly less or more but this is a good base line for all gas vehicles. Diesels are a bit more expensive. For diesels on a 2016 F-350 with a 5,000 filter and 10w-30 full synthetic would be the same $20 mobile charge, $9 for the filter, $70 for oil and $20 for labor totaling 119.00+tax. for an extended life filter add $5 totaling 124.00+tax.
